AS PN CADET FOR PERMANENT COMMISSION IN TERM 2025-A
TRAINING SCHEME
After recruitment as cadets, Pakistan Naval Academy serves as the cradle, grooming them professionally, morally, educationally, mentally and physically. Personality traits of individuals are developed which result in proficient Naval Officers equipped with the highest ideals of loyalty, honour, courage and dedication.
After 1½ years at PNA, the cadets pass out as midshipmen and join ships. In the fleet, they experience the life at sea while working in different areas onboard. After 6 months training at sea, the midshipmen are commissioned as Sub-Lieutenants.
Note: Free Messing, Accommodation and Uniform will be provided during training.
OPERATIONS BRANCH OFFICERS
For further training Operations branch Sub-lieutenants join the Naval Engineering College for 2-1/2 years. During this period these officers undergo engineering degree programme in Electronics, earning them a degree from NUST (National University of Sciences & Technology).
After successful engineering graduation, the officers from Operations branch undergo professional courses
at various schools which include:
• Surface Warfare
• Under Water Warfare
• Electronic Warfare
• Communications
• Navigation & Operations
NBCD
With this educational and professional training, these officers are appointed onboard ships to obtain watch-keeping certificates.
MECHANICAL BRANCH OFFICERS
For Mechanical branch officers, 2-1/2 years further training at PN Engineering College in the discipline of Mechanical Engineering earns them the BE (Mechanical) degree from NUST. Then these officers join the fleet seeking watch-keeping certificates on board ships.
LOGISTIC BRANCH OFFICERS
Logistics branch officers join the School of Logistics and Management, affiliated with Institute of Business Administration. After 2 years of training, these officers earn BBA(Hons) degree and join ships for their competency certificates.
ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS
Male citizens of Pakistan
Age: (On the first day of month in which entrance test is held)
Civilian Candidates – 16 ½ to 21 years
o Service Candidates – 17 to 23 years
(Persons serving in Armed Forces in uniform)
Marital Status: Unmarried (This condition will not apply in the case of service candidates)
Height: 162.05 Centimeters (5’ – 4”) Minimum.
Requirements / Registration:
HOW TO REGISTER:
Candidates may register themselves by visiting Pakistan Navy website (http://www.joinpaknavy.gov.pk) from 03 to 17 November 2024.
Note: Applications sent directly to Recruitment Directorate at Naval Headquarters will not be entertained.
SELECTION PROCESS:
Computer based test/ e-testing will be conducted in following subjects:
Intelligence test
Academic test (English, Maths/ Physics & General Knowledge)
ISSB Application forms will be issued to those candidates who qualify/ preliminary Medical/ Interview and Physical Efficiency Test (PET).
Only shortlisted candidates as per merit would be called for Test/ interviews at ISSB.
Medical Examination of ISSB recommended candidates would be held at the authorized CMH/ PNS SHIFA.
Final selection will be done by Naval Headquarters in order of merit.
Note: The candidates are advised to get ear waxed & teeth cleaned by a specialist doctor prior reporting for medical examination.
PROSPECTS:
Grant of permanent commission after two years of training and one of the following degrees shall be awarded upon successful completion of basic training:
Operation Branch: BS (Maritime Sciences)
Marine Engineering Branch: BE (Mechanical)
Weapon Engineering Branch: BE (Electrical)
Supply Branch: BS (Supply Chain Management)
Note: Subject to aptitude and academic progress, selected officers may be sent abroad for MS and PhD.

INELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS
Twice rejected or screened out by the ISSB
Following are ineligible:
• Twice rejected by ISSB/GHQ/AHQ Selection Board.
• Twice screened out at ISSB.
• PUF by AMB (permanently declared UNFIT by Appeal Medical Board).
• Tested with in four months (120 days) gap of previous appearance (for not recommended candidates).
• Tested within one year validity period (As validity of ISSB/GHQ/AHQ Selection Board stands for one year).
• Withdrawn from any Academy/Training institution of Armed Forces on any ground.
• Withdrawn from any bounded Armed Forces college/institution on disciplinary grounds.
• Dismissed/removed/debarred from Govt Services including Armed Forces.
• Convicted in a Court of Law for an offence involving moral turpitude.
• Declared medically unfit due to Hepatitis B&C (AMB cannot be requested)
• Declared unfit by any Armed Forces Hospital except those cleared by Appeal Medical Board.
• The candidature of candidate who will temper his/her academic certificates, conceal or give wrong information to gain undue advantage will be cancelled and declared permanently ineligible for all types of commission in the Armed Forces.
• Married to Foreign National.

Medical Examination of ISSB recommended candidates in Combined Military Hospitals (CMHs)
Interview by PN Selection Board at NHQ
Final selection on merit by NHQ.
Only shortlisted candidates would be called for preliminary medical/ interview and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) at respective PNR&SCs. The PET standards are as under:
