  • Eligibility: Male, unmarried Pakistani citizens aged 17-21; height minimum of 5'4" (162.5 cm); weight according to BMI guidelines. 
  • Registration Dates: Online applications available from February 10 to March 12, 2025. 
  • Testing Timeline: Preliminary tests scheduled from March 17 to April 21, 2025. 
  • Marital and Nationality Requirements: Candidates must be unmarried and hold Pakistani citizenship; dual nationals must renounce non-Pakistani citizenship if selected. 

Eligibility Criteria

Education

  • Intermediate or equivalent

Age

  • 17-21 Years as on Sep 01, 2025

Age Relaxation

  • Relaxable for three months for both upper and lower limits.

Education

  • Matric/ Senior Cambridge/ GCE “O Level” (English being compulsory in five subjects for O level) both in science with minimum 60% Marks.
  • FSC (Pre Engineering) - with minimum 65% marks (including 20 marks for NCC) and 'A' level passed in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry in Grade 1-6/A-C.

Candidates with FSC/equivalent qualification with a combination of Mathematics, Physics, and Computer studies or Computer Science can apply for all engineering programs.

Candidates can also apply on 'HOPE certificate of 65% Marks' duly issued by Head of the institution. FSc final result card/mark sheet must be submitted within one week of announcement board results; otherwise, candidates will not be considered in final merit. Those candidates who obtained less than 65% marks in FSc and less than grade A-C in Advance Level will be declared ineligible for subject course.

Ineligibility Conditions

  • Twice rejected or twice screened out by Inter Service Selection Board (ISSB)/ General Headquarters (GHQ)/ Naval Headquarters (NHQ)/ Air Headquarters (AHQ) Selection Board or once rejected by ISSB and once rejected by GHQ/NHQ/AHQ Selection Board.

  • Withdrawn/discharged/resigned or purchased commission from any Academy/Training institution of Armed Forces on any ground.

  • Withdrawn from any bonded Armed Forces college/institution on disciplinary grounds.

  • Dismissed/removed/debarred from Government Service including Armed Forces.

  • Convicted in a Court of Law for any heinous offence (to be ascertained by the competent military authority).

  • Permanently declared UNFIT by Appeal Medical Board (PUF by AMB). Declared unfit by any Armed Forces Hospital except those cleared by Appeal Medical Board. Candidates medically unfit for flying but fit for ground branches can undergo routine Medical Examination as normal candidates if they wish to join other arms.

  • Declared medically unfit due to Hepatitis B & C (AMB cannot be requested).

  • Withdrawn from any bonded Armed Forces college/institution on disciplinary grounds or from any Armed Forces officers Academy/Training Institution for any reason.

Diploma Holders

  • Those studying in any of the Armed Forces Institutions/Academies or nominated against reserve defence quota seats/studying as Paying Cadets in any of the Armed Forces Technical Colleges.

  • Tested within four months (120 days) gap of previous appearance at Inter Services Selection Board; candidates granted waiver by the competent authority. However, a gap of 120 days will not apply to candidates appearing for post graduate General Headquarters/Naval Headquarters/Air Headquarters based selections.


Registration and Preliminary Selection Procedure

Registration And Preliminary Selection Process
Candidates can register either through Internet or by visiting Army Selection and Recruitment Centres (AS&RCs). Following procedure will be adopted:

Registration through Internet

Candidates can register on the website www.joinpakarmy.gov.pk. Individuals must visit the website for the exam slip after successfully registering themselves. Normally, it takes 5 to 7 working days for the generation of the exam slip. Candidates will report on the exact date and time given for the preliminary test on a computerized roll no slip. The date once given will not be changed. Candidates will also bring along documents (as per the list mentioned in the advertisement). Candidates MUST attain working knowledge of computers as registration and tests will be conducted on computers.

Registration at Army Selection and Recruitment Centres

Candidates may report at the nearest AS&RCs for registration/allotment of roll no along with necessary documents (as per the list mentioned in the advertisement). Candidates will bring these documents on the day of the test as well.

Preliminary Selection

Intelligence/Academic Tests
Candidates declared successful in the intelligence test will undergo an academic test, based on multiple choice questions (MCQs) from English, Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/Computer Studies/Computer Sciences (Only for Computer Science students). Candidates declared successful in academic tests will undergo physical tests at Army Selection and Recruitment Centres (AS&RCs).

Physical Tests
Candidates must qualify the following physical tests:

  • 1.6 Km Run - 8 minutes
  • Push-Ups - 15 repetitions in 2 minutes
  • Sit-Ups - 20 repetitions in 2 minutes
  • Chin-Ups - 3 repetitions in 2 minutes
  • Ditch Crossing - 7.4" x 7.4" and 4' deep

Preliminary Medical Test
Candidates will undergo an initial medical test at Army Selection and Recruitment Centres (AS&RCs).

Further Selection Procedure

Further Selection Process
Only shortlisted candidates will be called for Inter Service Selection Board (ISSB) tests through the website as well as call-up letters. Medical examination of Inter Service Selection Board (ISSB) recommended candidates will be carried out at nearby CMHs. Final selection will be made at General Headquarters (GHQ) on the basis of the candidate’s overall performance. Allocation of disciplines will be made on a merit cum choice basis. The decision of General Headquarters (GHQ) in allotment of disciplines will be final and no representation or request for change in allotted discipline will be entertained.

Priority of Disciplines

Priority of choices of discipline written/given by candidates in application forms will not be changed. Therefore, due deliberation must be given prior to endorsing priority of choices of discipline.

Degree Programme

4 years degree programme.

Military Training

After obtaining a Bachelor of Engineering Degree, cadets will undergo one year of military training at Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Kakul.

Documents Required

Candidates will deposit the following documents with Army Selection and Recruitment Centres (AS&RCs):

  • Original Certificate/ Detailed Mark Sheet of Matric/ FSc/ Equivalent certificate. In case of ‘O’ Level/ ‘A’ Level, submission of Equivalence Certificate issued by IBCC is mandatory.

  • Attested photocopies of domicile/ Family Registration Certificate/ NADRA verification certificate.

  • Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) for candidates aged 18 years and above or Computerized Form “B” along with CNIC of Father or Guardian for candidates under 18 years of age.

  • One set of attested photocopies of both sides of the above-mentioned documents.

  • 3 x Coloured photographs attested by Principal/ Class-1 Gazetted Officer (1 x front & 2 x back).

  • Original as well as 3 x photocopies of Inter Service Selection Board (ISSB) “NOT RECOMMENDED” letter are also required (for Repeater Candidates only).



Additional Information

BOND: Cadets are required to sign a surety bond in duplicate to serve the Army for a minimum of 13 years on an E-Stamp paper worth Rs. 100/- duly countersigned by a Magistrate/Notary Public/Oath Commissioner.
